Making the 9-point doesn't tempt me, as all it does is blocks 7's and leave 3/36 shots.

There's more value in leaving 4 shots while finishing our five point homeboard. The question is whether the blotless and constructive 11/6 is more appropriate. 6-3 and 3-3 are bad rolls for opp, and being ready to strike (i.e. without a homeboard blot) appears to take full advantage of those three rolls. It sure looks like we're going to need the acepoint covered at some point in this game, and here's a chance to do so without an unreasonable risk.
