Small Board in Florida. Comments?

While I don't disagree with your basic question about playing on a small board, there is one very important piece of information missing from your description of what happened: did Michael Corbett object to playing on the smaller board? If they rolled for the board and Sassan won, then Michael should be obligated to play on it. If after rolling he found out it was an unusual board (for any reason...small, huge, funny checkers, etc.) then he would have a legitimate reason to ask the tournament director to find a neutral board. But if Mike did not object and simply agreed to play on the board, the case is closed. Just because you, or others don't like watching the match on that board is not cause to have it changed once both players agree.
I do agree with other comments that the tournament director has the final say...he can make anyone change boards if he feels it is better for the players and/or the spectators, or if he feels the board, for some reason, is not standard etc. (or might have magnets in it based on the reputation of the owner, etc. etc.)
