Speaking of clocks....

...Is it possible to have both clocks running at half speed?
I don't think this is possible with the GTII, and I doubt it is possible for the small (orange and white) clock (made in the Netherlands) which is also somewhat popular here in the US.
This *could be* an issue. Which player gets charged for the break? IMO, it's not fair to charge one player for the other player's break, particularly when there's a limit on the number of total breaks (which of course there should be). Scenario: Player A gets a phonecall and takes a break. Later player A decides he needs to use the restroom and takes the second match break. Still later player B needs to use the restroom, BUT... no allowed breaks remain. Too bad for player B....
In the current US rules, each player is allowed his own breaks (typically one, but can be more for longer matches) of 5 minutes each. Consequently (as others mention) if Player A calls for a break, player B gets to take advantage of it. Regarding clocking breaks, this could turn into a game of chicken. Of course that may not be such a bad thing!
