I can say that I know people who have never purchased anything you have written because it generally requires them paying money? I know people who still use GnuBG because XG actually costs too much! How well does XG run on platforms other than windows? Just because You personally had no use for GnuBG does not invalidate the contribution that Software made to Backgammon in general, or the use some of your peers got from it. I could mention names, but I won't.
And for the record, I also render unofficial support for XG for the intermediate/advanced players on the social sites. So before you think that I have a one track mind and that supporting commercial software is beyond my ideology - it isn't. Do I ask Xavier to be paid for the support I render... no, nor will I.
If I have something of value to the Backgammon community I will give it freely.
