You can do whatever you want for your OS...

Don't know if we're discussing the same issue. Presumably in order to run XG you needs MS-Windows of some variety. (I am going to assume that we are both talking about staying legal, too.) Again, I haven't checked prices but I assume the cheapest compatible OS currently is Windows-7 Home. If Jason has to go out and buy a copy of that (because he's BYO'ing) then it must be included in the cost. Prebuilts (at least the big name versions) typically come with Windows-7 Home installed as part of the price. My guess is that the cost of that component which is passed on to the buyer is quite a bit (percentagewise) less than what an individual can get on his own.
