i only went to college for 3 years and chemistry was my bag.

in pool, there is a element of luck, the cue ball can collide with another ball or stick to a numbered ball, what ever the case it leaves the player in a bad position for the next shot. happens to everyone, less for the pros as they can control the balls better than most.

my point is after watching the same people play pool for 30 years, the luck evens out over time. the better player wins.

thats my empirical evidence from pool rooms world wide.
