...it makes me cringe at everyone who uses two hands when they shouldn't be (either for checkers or checkers/clock), who move part of a move early when it really isn't forced, and who early grab or hover over the dice in the most banal situations.

I often move a single checker when I'm sure (or 95% sure, anyway) that will be part of the move, then think about the remainder. (Also, if it's improper, why aren't you bothered by it when forced?) I'm not aware it's illegal, unethical, or even rude/impolite. Let's open up the floor for discussion.
