I think 9(2) 4(2) is also reasonable. The 9 point is temporarily useful (you can safely put a third checker there), the 4 point is good, and I think this play gives you more point making numbers next turn than 5(2). But

yes, because of that, I would also play 13/5(2). Blue wants to get play out of the stack on the 6 point. After 4(2), only aces can be played from there in front of the anchors. After 5(2), Blue has 2's for the 4 point and aces to play 6/5 (and then aces and deuces for the 4 point. For that matter Blue won't mind playing some 3's and 8's to the 5 point where the extra checker aims at the 4 point, while playing extras to the 4 point with an unmade 5 point looks very ugly.
