But - given that this is 1-0 in 9, and you decide not to anchor, would you want to use clock time sorting through the 6 or 7 other plays that are there?

Not sure what your point is. Good clock management means using your available time thinking about issue for which your thinking stands to make a difference. If you decide not to anchor, then 5/4 seems pretty clear, and there are a few 3's to look at. One shouldn't spend an undue amount of time since the equity at stake is small, but that doesn't mean that one shouldn't spend any time at all.

But what puzzles me is whether you really intend to ask the question that you stated. Did you mean to ask whether the fact that there are 6 or 7 non-anchoring plays should sway you towards anchoring because then you don't have to spend any additional clock time sorting through alternatives? If so, then I don't think this is a wise clock management strategy. Especially early in the match, you should not be panicking about getting into time trouble.

Perhaps if this were near the end of the match and you were nearly out of reserve time (while your opponent was not), and you judged the anchoring and non-anchoring plays to be close, then you might be justified in anchoring on the grounds that it would make you less likely to blunder during the rest of the game. But even in this case, it would be a psychological error to pick the anchoring play just because you didn't want to sort through the alternatives.

If you are consulting with one partner, does this position present an issue of psychology/management? If you make the contact play, and your other half preferred the anchor, and you get pointed on quickly, could that disturb the chemistry for the balance of the session?

Certainly, having an immature partner is a handicap in a doubles match. I don't know either of the Danes in question but I would be surprised if either of them were so immature as to suffer from this kind of problem.
