Just for the sake of it (~ small stakes), Bob Koca and I did play out this prop - in both forms, taking both sides.

I mistakenly assumed that the side owning the playing of the aces would get to play his opponents aces. This is not true. He gets to play them himself on his checkers. It makes it quite goofily interesting, and really does ruin a perfectly good bearoff race.

Either way, we played both types (the correct one 3 times each side, the incorrect once). We evened out, and agreed that the 'stealing aces' variant was more interesting. I have been schooled by Bob before on these ridiculous variants of BG, so was wary walking into this one. However, it turned out that I came the closest to winning on the 'You get to play my aces on your checkers' side. By that, I mean, I got into a bearoff race, which contained too many aces in the middle/end.
