Here are the steps to set up a 1296-trial rollout, and store it as rollout A. Rollout A
- Click Settings, Rollouts... to open the Rollouts dialog box.
- If you are not already there, go to the General tab of the Rollouts dialog box.
- Enter the number 1296 in the box labeled Trials.
- Remove any checkmark in the checkbox for Truncate Rollouts.
- Remove any checkmark in the checkbox for Enable separate evaluations.
- Remove any checkmark in the checkbox for Stop when STD is small enough.
- Remove any checkmark in the checkbox for Enable stop on JSD.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Truncate cubeless (and cubeful money) at exact bearoff database.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Cubeful.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Variance reduction.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Use quasi-random dice.
- Remove any checkmark in the checkbox for Rollout as initial position.
- Switch to the Play Settings tab of the dialog box.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Use same settings for both players.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Cube decisions use same settings as checker play.
- Place a checkmark in the checkbox for Use player0 setting for truncation point.
- Under the heading First Play Both, select World Class. Alternatively, you could select Supremo, but since it uses a Large move filter, rollouts take much longer. Both World Class and Supremo are 2-ply rollouts.
- Save as a.rol.
- Click Save as (at the bottom of the Rollouts dialog box).
- Enter lower case a as the name.
- Click Save.
Close the Rollouts dialog box, and you are good to go.
- Rollout A is a full rollout of 1296 trials.
- Rollout B mimics XGR++ for checker plays.
- Rollout C mimics XGR++ for cube decisions.
