You're probably referring to that rule about 3 away- 6 or more away where 3a shouldn't double in a position where he has significant g chances. A good rule and I'd follow it here. Blue has a real chance at a bg here as well which would win the match with no overage - another reason not to cube.

If doubled, should the trailer take? If White takes and automatically recubes (which is usually wrong), the takepoint is ~25% minus ~108% of his small gammon chances. If White redoubles only when correct, his takepoint is usually about 2-3% less than this auto recube takepoint. So White needs around 21% to take.

Everything either covers or makes the 5-point so I doubt White wins this often.

TG/Pass is my guess.
