Seems to me that blue is favored to win the race when white dances, so I don't see the value in heroic methods to try to save a lost game. I'll just clean up and hope white dances a few times while a rip some checkers off.

Yes, leaving the 5 slotted means that whenever white hits I get to recirculate and maintain contact, but I'm happy with my race chances.

9/3 5/3, and a dance may call for the cube.
