Thanks for posting those variants in addition to your original problem. They will help people see how fast the cube actions move as the game settles into a straight bearoff without much remaining game-time for things to turn around for the taker. One extra checker off may represent an entire roll, and that means a lot when there are only a few rolls left to go.
