A Shot in the Dark

When you post an interesting position such as this one, yet still get few responses, part of the reason is often that readers simply do not know the right play. Put me in that group today!

Over the board, I would not automatically make my 2pt. I would hem and haw, and after a while I might even decide to try the split. Just as often, I would probably fall back on making the 2pt. I can’t say I would end up making the same choice every time.

With QF thrown in, let me take a wild guess that Roberite’s solution is to play the split, with an explanation that timing rules in prime-vs.-prime situations. Against this, your rollout shows the beginner’s pointing play to be competitive.
