Is it legal to play legal moves in a non legal moves tourney?

In the position, B/5 w/o hit is illegal. So even if you take the position that the move was completed before the checker was hit on the bar, you can say this was an illegal move, and the rules give you the option not to accept the illegal move and insist on the legal move being made.

If I declare, before a match, that I will play legal moves, it means that I will insist on my opp correcting illegal moves, even if it would be in my advantages to let the illegal move stand. Whether or not a tourney is held under legal rules does not matter, I have the right to insist on legal moves by my opp.
