David, IMHO that is not what the actual dead rule says. It specifically says that if the MATCH is not insured to end at the current level that the player can cube. The problem is that it doesn't specify what player that applies to, and one can very easily argue that it applies to both players.

What I suggested quite some time ago is that I believe there was an intent for this rule that would prevent the situation, but the actual wording actually allows for something different.
