In Response To: Just one more argument for Legal Moves (Phil Simborg)

Phil, it sounds like Herb is the victim here. Oh poor Herb, what could he do against such strict (bad) rules? Bullshit! He was given a chance to make the only right choice but he elected to win the match in the most unsportsmanlike manner. It is only natural that part of the community is outraged to be associated with individuals of that kind of character.

If you are telling me that this is considered normal in tournament backgammon, and those disapproving Herb's conduct are wrong, I have zero desire to participate in a live backgammon tournament ever again. Even "legal moves only" will not solve the problem since how would I know if an "Herb" is going to correct my possible incidental errors if it is not to his advantage?
