I also prefer legal moves, but registering for a tourney implies consent to its rules, so if you don't like them then try to change them rather than arbitrarily agree with your op to do so before your match, which under certain circumstances could get one or both of you into trouble.

To those who insist that given the opportunity to decide, that they would allow their checker to be placed on the bar even after the op had legally completed his play within the rules, and especially to those that criticised Herb for his decision, would you without qualification also do so if it were dmp in the final of a major tourney?
