I detest when an opponent plays halfway throwing his checkers down, hits the click and then places his checkers properly on the correct points after he has already hit the clock and during my turn.

I don't care if he is running short on time - manage your time better.

And, besides, if it's that easy a decision then it should be in the rules and not up in the air for a player.

I likely would have put the checker on the roof if I was herb. But... What if Roberto had been doing things like that all match? What if I had warned him already?
