Kirai ( Osaka Japan local rule )
Hi everybody.
I introduce Osaka local rule, 'Kirai'.
'Kirai' is Japanese. It means about 'I don't like it'
1. Opening roll winner can choice twice.
1-1 Continue with opening roll
1-2 Just say 'Kirai' and roll again with automatic double
1-1 Same as normal Backgammon.
1-2 Backgammon start with Doubling Cube 2 and Opening roll winner's roll.
Example.
If you opening roll 3 and opponent roll 1.
You can accept this opening roll ,play 31 and continue.
If you opening roll 2 and opponent roll 1.
You can say 'Kirai'.
Doubling cube change 1 -> 2.
Start Backgammon but you can start roll 2 dice(so you can start with doublet if you rolled).
'Kirai' usually use in Chouette.
BTW
Osaka Open 2014 Japan ( March 15th-16th )
Sub main event :)
Kirai championship 9 points match.
Example.
If your score 7 - 8 opponent score crawford.
If you win opening roll, You must say 'Kirai'!
And this game goto DMP.
If your score 7 - 5 opponent score 9 points.
If you win opening roll, Don't say 'Kirai'.
If you say 'Kirai', your opponent will double 2 -> 4 and this game goto DMP.
'Kirai' destoray usually Match Equity Table.
If you join Osaka Open, you have to training 'Kirai' rule :)
Thank you for reading.
Yoshito Takeuchi
p.s.
In money game, If you win opening roll with 31 but all time say 'Kirai' is better, I think.
(Because Doublet opening roll is very strong such as 66)
How about you ?
