Blue to play 32

eXtreme Gammon Version: 2.10

Apply Magriel’s Bold vs. Safe Criteria

All the signs point to a bold play.
  • Blue trails in the race
  • Blue has two checkers back to White’s one
  • Blue has the the better board
  • Opponent has inner board blot
Blue has little chance to develop naturally. Adding a spare to 8pt only gives him two builders for the key points. Stripping the midpoint in order to play two down is not much better. With this awkward throw Blue may as well put ’em where he wants ’em.

$ (Slot) = 13/10, 6/4

My retro-sequence is almost the same as Nack’s. White’s moves are identical, while Blue transposes 33P, 31@ for 43@, 63P.

Mike
