Agreed Michael. A lot of things about PR calculation is annoying - I've tried to post about that before, and with some suggestions on how to improve it, but people simply say, it's PR, it's not perfect, we shouldn't improve it... And then the same people reads way too much into the number when they discuss strength afterwards.

Getting rewarded for a roll on an optional double is somewhat similar as getting rewarded for bearing off with an ace :-)

I seldom see someone commenting an analyzed match by saying, wow he played a 2.1, he really do roll on all optional doubles and he did get into a lot of bear offs and post Crawford play in that match! Did you see how he chose to bear of two checkers almost every time he had the chance! He's really strong...
