1) 13/7 seems to offer up a lot - white would love to hit and get her runners going. OTOH, hitting on the 18 probably means bringing more checkers into the zone, something else white wants to do.

Not sure, but I think I'll go for the 7 point since it might distract her from flooding the zone and blitzing.

2) bar/24 17/7 is safe, and all the safe v bold criteria point to safe. I hate sitting on the ace point, but I'll do it here.
