These are too hard for me! With little confidence, here are my solutions.

In your first position, 54S-33A-61, I went for slot, S = bar/24 13/7. Coming out to the 18pt gives White 1, 5, and 6 as attacking numbers. That’s enough motivation for me to hold the anchor. Against 8 checkers in the zone, playing for the advanced anchor might easily be a better play.

In the second position, 52S-31P-61P-53P-F-21U-61, I also selected S = bar/24, 13/7. The opponent’s split checkers may give Blue a chance to attack, so even though Blue strips his midpoint, bringing a builder down may force White to give up some of the initiative.
