The split adds equity to the point making play such that it should be clear but even without the split making the 4 pt should be correct.

I have studied this position and similar variants and reached the following general opening guidelines:

If opponent opens with a 62S or 63S, a 31 is used to making the 5 and 42 is used to hit (these 2nd rolls should be known and clear to most).

If we move a spare from the mid-pt to the 8 pt such that there is increased pressure to unstack from the 8 and 6 pts, and opponent opens with a 62S or 63S, then 31 or 42 should be played by making the 5 or 4 pt respectively. When adding the split to the 23 the mentioned point making plays should be the top plays by a lot.
