Thanks for posting such great variants, Daniel.

They seem to reinforce the idea that one of the most important factors in the decision whether to hit or make the 4pt is the ability to hit a second or third time from the midpoint if a battle breaks out for the bar point.

The issue is perhaps muddied by racing factors. Every pip matters, as thay say, and the swing between the variants that add a checker to the 8pt by taking from it the 6pt and those that take it from the midpoint is 7 pips.
