QF says that the obvious 13/10 (or 13/11 5/4) is a mistake, and that the computer prefers 16/13 or 8/6 5/4, volunteering a direct shot. If so, I'd put this in my folder "mutual holding game, volunteering a shot." It's fairly unusual to volunteer more shots than necessary in a mutual holding game, but there are some factors that point in that direction:

1. Blue's position is getting a little stripped, and he wants to find more spare moves somewhere;

2. White has a blot, a somewhat weaker board, and a lead in the pip count, so breaking her stripped midpoint to hit is no bargain;

3. Blue has to leave an indirect shot anyway.

I would probably have played 13/10 OTB. The first variants I would examine would be cleaning up White's blot in various ways.
