There usually needs to be some good reason to volunteer a direct shot in a mutual holding game. Here the only reasons I can see are (1) the safe play, 8/5 6/5, is ugly, and (2) we have the stronger board, so White will be a little reluctant to break anchor to hit. Leaving 2 blots in the outfield seems too much. I will try 8/4 since other than 11, White's hitting numbers don't play all that well for her, and it would be useful for us to make the 4pt. But I suspect that the stodgy 8/5 6/5 isn't all that bad either.
