In Response To: whst it proved (Phil simborg)

From a prop perspective, it proved to me that the prop seems like a pretty good safety valve for a lesser skilled player against a great one in a money-game match up. Keeping the cube allowed Phil not to get run over. Somebody will probably put a precise number on it, but without the cube, Phil would have lost a lot more points than 14 points. This session proved it's a pretty fair spot.

From an organized backgammon perspective it proved that money-play can be showcased as well (maybe better) as match play for spectators. The event wasn't perfect, but I think it succeeded in what it tried to do. I hope to see more of these. Maybe put Phil in the booth and Felafel at the board for the next one.
