I managed to see some of the critical games online at the airport on the way home, up till then it seemed to be going back and forth, the value of owning the cube equalizing Mochy's superior skill. I think the turning point was when Mochy took a 4 cube on Prime vs Prime (which apparently wasn't a recube but so hard to judge) and Mochy turned it and got lucky then next game or two winning a gammon (?)- after that Phil was probably shaken and in damage control mode, Mochy had broken his confidence. Besides Mochy I think we should also thank Phil for his tireless work promoting Backgammon - from teaching to new technologies that are revolutionizing Backgammon and hopefully will create a new crop of great new players - also Felafel for his colorful commentaries and promotion of BG.
