Golf match play unbalanced brackets?

In Response To: Golf match play round robin whining warning - OT (Bill Finneran)

Reality is that there is a lot of parity at the top level of golf. But look at the seedings (out of ~65 or so of the world rankings of players entered) of the remaining players and the halves of the bracket they are located:

Top half bracket seeds: 1,5,12,13,16,30,37,38.

Bottom half bracket seeds: 27,32,39,49,52,57,60,65.

More of the bottom quartile (all in the bottom half) made the round of 16 than the top quartile (all in the top half).
