When I was living in Vegas we used to go out after the bridge game on Saturday nights and play games (Botticelli, Trivial Pursuit, etc.) all night. One night around 4 a.m. one of the guys said he had to get up in the morning "to work." There was a stunned silence. We couldn't believe that anyone in the crowd had a job.

Around that time there was a nice older lady who played at the bridge club who announced that they were moving to Oklahoma for "her husband's job."

"What does your husband do, Beryl?"

"He's a bookie."
