Perhaps I should have clarified that I saw two possible game plans and considered the dominant play for each one of those. In specific, when challenging the stripped mid-pt with 20/18, I think that 13/10 is best. 18/15 is ok but feels too passive given the stronger position for White.

As for hitting on the ace, I read the comments and can see why I may be wrong (I have tendency to over-play some positions), but can't see it as close to a blunder. If you move a spare from the mid-pt or 8 pt and add it to the 6 pt, the hit would look clear to me.
