Online play is dead between the ease of cheating, the US laws, and the rakes.

Sponsorships are nonexistent.

Unless you are in a major metropolitan area or have a dedicated fish it has to be darn near impossible to pay the rent and play backgammon full time.

How are the pros managing to put the hours in? I believe the bodybuilders have gay for pay but having seen pictures of most of the giants it probably wouldn't be a good income.
