I think covering and splitting (two immediate gains) is better than double covering (which diversifies covers for the acepoint). Even with this decision made there are still two ways to accomplish the goal.

24/18 invites a blot hitting contest with a) the better homeboard, but b) with a blot in your own while nursing a small race lead. In addition, there is an extra outfield blot (not currently in direct range, but still vulnerable in the future) if you play 24/18.

24/23, 11/5 is the Goldilocks play, and if it's good enough for her it's good enough for me.
