The challenge I have with the unreliability of XG in any position is that it is still so much more reliable than me in any position. Outplays are generally a random event and freakishly rare at any reasonable ply.

If we assume that a weakness in XG's play is diluted by rollouts to a point where they are no longer statistically significant (potentially untrue in containment and backgames) then it doesn't matter as long as we check with rollouts.

If we assume that XG's play is irretrievable wrong in some of these positions then there is a different problem. Our best players are bot trained and have only a small body of analysis to go on if this is true so where do you go from there? I dunno, everyone has an opinion, mine is usually wrong.
