Backgame questions and positions

Below are three positions that came up in a recent game versus XG. According to XGR++, I butchered them. I'd appreciate your thinking on any/all of them. Also, some questions:

1) How reliable is XGR++ in these types of positions?

2) What rollout settings should I use to get meaningful results?

3) If XG has trouble playing these positions, what's the best way to improve?

Position 1:
