In the first position I like 24/15 because it covers the outfield and attacks the blot on the 11 so makes it less likely that White successfully escapes on the next few rolls. That may give Blue the time (and material) to extend the prime. If White hits, he only escapes if the roll is 44 precisely.

In the second position I'd play B/21 11/9 to keep the blot count down and to avoid being hit with entering 6s (which otherwise don't play great, and to make it more likely that we'll escape next turn.
