A position pair that I don't understand

I looked at the bot analysis, after deciding what I would do and why in the first position and after deciding that I did not know what I would do in the 2nd.

In the first position, you have a chance to give your opponent a huge anti-joker with 5-5, and 5-(1,2, and 3)weaken his position.

In the 2nd position all his 5's, other than 5-1, play well, so blocking his 5's is not a goal. That pretty much leaves 8-6, 7-1 and 8-6, 8-2. I was not sure which of those was best. Upon reflection, not knowing which play I would have made at DMP, should have led me in the right direction.
