Whatever the rights and the wrongs of the two candidate plays, it seems to me that, if White is a very slow player and Blue fast, the case for banana split goes up a fair bit and, if the relative speeds of the players are juxtaposed, the case for hitting absolutely plummets. Intriguing facets that are completely lost in the absence of clocks.
