In Response To: Playing 31 (Nack Ballard)

I'll make the five point here. Blue is ahead in the race and white is stuck on the ace point. My game plan would be to run the back checkers instead of anchoring.

Anyway, my experience has been that in other positions where there's a choice and it's not exactly clear, making the five point is usually only a small error (when it's actually wrong), while the other play is sometimes a blunder.

So, make the five. It may be wrong, but it's probably not very wrong.
