OT - Tennis Tournament Format Question

A charity tournament is being held by one of my friends and they asked me a format question which I thought someone here might find a better solution to.

7 teams (doubles) will play 5 rounds (round robin). The winner will be determined by the team that has won the most games during these five rounds. The question is how should byes be decided and how to compensate the teams who got the bye with games to make it fair.

Alternately, feel free to suggest a completely different answer/format though round robin obviously has to remain.
