Chicago roommate--what is better

If you were an intermediate player, playing an Open player, would you rather play a 1 point match or a 5 point match starting with 1 point?
I think the intermediate has a better chance in a 1 point match. In fact, I think starting with 2 points is probably closer to the same odds.
Now, I am not saying what Rory should do....and I am not saying things should be tiled more toward the intermediate at all. But I do believe this: after winning the tournament, having to play another 5 point match for the board, and it could be pretty late on Sunday, is not an exciting prospect, and I doubt many people would stick around to watch that match.
A 1 point match, however, would be fun and very exciting to watch. So that would be my recommendation. My second recommendation would be to let the two players decide which of the two options they prefer...maybe they would both rather play a 1 point match?
Please do not think I am in any way telling Rory, or anyone else what he should do. Just giving my opinion, and inviting the same from anyone else who would like to chime in. Either way, P40 is delighted to sponsor the event and supply a great, special board for the winner.
