EPC for stack + stragglers

i) just straggler pipcount + 4.7

ii) Single straggler use 3.5 x number of checkers + pipcount of straggle

I hadn't seen the formula you gave but it makes sense based on the above but only for two or more stragglers plus stack. Adding a checker say on the 12 point would make the EPC go up by 12 + 3.5 - 4 = 11.5. It goes up slightly less than the added pipcount because there is now greater flexibility and you can make more efficient use of the dice setting up the bearoff position.
