The BGonline 2nd move pages (http://www.bgonline.org/secondmove/56/46.html) indicate that making the 2 point is the best move (by 0.017), apparently for money.

At 7-away, 7-away, XG agrees. However, I can't figure out why burying two checkers early on can be the right move. Please explain. Thanks.
