If his results didn't suck I'd know what to do with the newest fish in the US.
My results actually aren't that bad IMHO. Since 2008 I have cashed in at least one event (main, masters, some random jackpot or side event, etc.) in 10 out of the 16 tournaments that I've entered [I usually play main, masters, & doubles, and re-enter if that is an option if I lose early on]. I don't know if I've had a losing month in backgammon (for both tourneys & side games) since 2008. But of course the Open, ABT points, and winning tournaments are where all the prestige is...
I can't remember anything over a 3 for either of us, you'd have to double check w/MCG as he probably paid more attn.)
I'm sure some were over 3 for both of us. Though not many. I think in at least one match we both played a 6 or something.
if he is able to finish ahead of my nemesis Al Faller on next year's ABT list I might vote him #33.
I have already squeaked out ahead of Al Faller this year assuming he doesn't show up in LA, and I only needed to go to 12 times as many tournaments. But note that I am still #42 on the ABT list for this year. Probably short-term variance, though. I doubt I stand much chance next year.
