I think your position is too far advanced to play (9,7). You are out-primed and out-timed and your attack does not rate to succeed that often. Look at the scenario where you opponent dances and you make the 3 point with another 6-4, a very good sequence. With him on roll, you are only a moderate favorite and if he enters on the 20 you will be a moderate dog. I would make a break for it now and play (15,9). Even if hit, you have an excellent chance to roll something playable from the bar and if you re-anchor your timing problem will be rectified. I could easily be wrong but it against my nature to make stiff plays when I am out-timed and out-primed. The third man on the two-point is a problem here. If it were on the eight instead I would favor (9,7).
