Thanks for posting this, Tom. (I was the guy who originally asked.)

The KC is pretty ingenious. Like any good conjurer's trick, I'm damned if I can figure out how it works. (But it seems to!)

One thing: the half-quadrant containing the 1-3 points doesn't seem to be covered in either the far sector, major or minor diagonals. If you've got a bunch of checkers on these points, must you add them in manually?
