Money-play endgame decision Tardieu

I first noticed the idea of "bare-off" i.e. voluntarily leaving a blot with the first or second bear-off roll after hitting a shot and the enemy has 7-5 checkers left. That was when I rolled out a Grandell match with Johanni? with a mistake on that theme.

Later on in the new century :) François Tardieu wrote an article with a more thorough research. I vaguely remember I would voluntarily leave a blot if I take the odd checker, but lifting would leave me odd; and the opponent had 6 or less checkers, if he had blots in his home, if I had no surplus checkers on my lower points...

Here black can easily get gammoned, and he cannot bear off a checker next turn, let alone be even.

Clear lift.
